Popular Gujarati play Aavajo Vhala Fari Malishu (Goodbye my dear, we will meet again), which has completed 120 shows in Mumbai, will soon be made into a Hindi film starring Amitabh Bachchan. ABCL is likely to produce the film to be directed by Vipul Shah. A formal announcement is expected later this month once the Big B returns from the shooting of Kaante in the US.
Playwright-cum-director Aatish Kapadia and producer Jamnadas Majethia wanted to make a film on the play and so invited the Big B for a show. And sure enough, the ageing superstar fell in love in love with the play and even volunteered to produce it. That`s called playing your cards right! Incidentally, Aatish`s earlier play Aankhen (Aandhlo Pato) is also being made into a film starring none else than the Big B, and directed by Shah. Well played.!
